Proper forklift training can go a long way to reduce the more than 100 annual fatalities and 94,000 forklift-related injuries that are reported in the United States. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has completed its revision of the standard to assist in improving legal requirements for forklift operator training. OSHA Standard 1910.178 sets the safety and health standards for materials handling and storage as they pertain to powered industrial lift trucks.
